Willow Creek Winery and Catering at Willow Creek are nestled on 26 acres located about 1 mile south of beautiful Lake Erie. The range from a dry robust Cabernet Franc to an easy drinking Pink Catawba. One of our proudest offerings is a smooth sippin Cream Sherry. All of the Willow Creek wines are available for sampling in our tasting room.
Our facilities feature a covered pavillion which seats 600 people. In addition, you can relax at one of our wooded picnic areas and enjoy freshly picked fruit. A majestic gazebo sits on an island centered in our pond acting as a focal point. A gentle stream winds its way through the picnic areas. Four waterfalls generate relaxing sounds to ease your tensions. Catch and release fishing, bounce house, water slide, volleyball, horse shoes and swing sets are also available for our guests. There are many benches, swings and picnic tables in private spots to enjoy a romantic lunch or dinner, along with a bottle of Willow Creek Wine. The History of Willow Creek
Founded in 1999 by late retired Lake Shore School teacher Jim Emerson, along with 15 other winemakers, Willow Creek Winery sits on 26 scenic acres not far from Lake Erie, just outside Silver Creek, NY in beautiful Sheridan, NY.
In 1999, we produced only three wines, but that was then and this is now. Today, Willow Creek produces 16 different wines and three specialty wines, including a Cream Sherry, Chocolate Temptation and Wine Slushy, on the premises.
Willow Creek has vastly improved and continues to grow throughout the years. In 2001, we held our first Willowfest, which then was one-day event that attached a few hundred people, but since has grown into a two-day event, attracting upwards of 15,000 people. Highlights of Willowfest include free parking and admission, amusement park rides, crafts and car shows, live music and New York State’s largest hand lit fireworks display, which lasts over an hour.
From 2000-2003, we saw upgrades in the form of picnic groves, a gazebo, and a pond. You can sit and relax at one of our many picnic areas or take a romantic stroll through the grounds that are adorned with four waterfalls and two streams that wind around apple and willow trees.
Also in 2003, we began offering catering services and constructed a 600 seat open-air pavilion. The catering services are available for wedding receptions, class or family reunions, graduation parties, company picnics or any other event you wish to share with us.
We held our first Cruise in at the Creek in 2007, which originally was held one Thursday a month, and now is offered weekly, from May through September.
More improvements are planned for 2008 and years to come. Future plans are to involve an event center, a new tasting room, year round catering and a new restaurant.
Willow Creek also presents offsite tastings for special events and fund raisers. We have worked with and donated to Hunters Hope, Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament, Wine and the City, among others.
The employees here at Willow Creek are trained to be knowledgeable and courteous, but most importantly, friendly. We all adopted Jim’s dream that when you come here, you are a stranger, but when you leave, you are a friend.
Willow Creek Winery is a proud member of the Chautauqua Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Chautauqua Wine Trail. We also received the Silver Creek-Irving Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Award in 2003.
